What do you think about new Jumia Affiliate commission models
Posted on: October 28, 2017, 12:02:52 PM
Jumia made a recent shocking update on the quest for their new Black Friday festival that will start on 13th Nov -13th Dec 2017, jumia promised to give an unbeatable discounts in all their products but in doing so their affiliate partners commission has updates but as far as I can tell the update will not be favourable to some of their affiliate partners especially tech bloggers who mostly sells smartphones and other related gadgets.

No doubt Jumia Affiliate program is one of the best options you can utilize to make money online through social media, website, and blogs etc by referring customers to them.

Their new commission models will surely hurt some publishers, initially selling a smartphone gives you a 5% commission but Jumia has reduced it to 2% including other gadgets which are not good to my own understanding even if you sell more this season.

According to Jumia

We invested a lot of resources into different aspects of the company and improved our strategy to keep our customers engaged and ensure an increase in orders by 10x during this period, by offering customers deeper discounts and a better service.

We’ve also made some business adjustments, one if which is updating our commission models, We are confident our new business strategy would ensure maximized profit for you as orders will increase massively going forward.

These are the new commission models that will be live starting 27/10/2017. Any order you’ve made before 27/10/2017 will not be affected and the commission for it would be according to the old commission model.

From their new commission model, you can see that fashion and other categories seems to be manageable compared to phones that have now been reduced from 5% TO 2% which means that a phone that normally gives you 1K plus will now give you 300 0
or 400 plus.

I don't know if this update is favorable to you or not but for those of us who have tech blog built around smartphones and other gadgets will really not like the new Jumia Commission model.

Feel free to let me know how you feel about the new update.
