Copying and pasting your website codes from one location to the other was so simple until Cpanel was updated to the latest version and I discovered that copying and pasting files and codes in my website file directory is no longer the way it used to be.

First what is Cpanel

This will be helpful to those who don't know what I meant by Cpanel but a Cpanel is an online Linux-based web hosting control panel that provides a graphical interface and automation tools designed to simplify the process of hosting a website.

With the help of Cpanel you can manage all your website files and edit its codes with ease and that is the main work of a Cpanel, in other words, we call it control panel where webmasters manage their website files and other features.

As a webmaster or designer, we often edit some codes to add more features and remove some unwanted features by copying and pasting codes from one position to the other.

Recently I was not able to copy or past whenever I use a simple text editor in Cpanel which might have other ways one can copy and past but I didn't bother much since I tested another method that worked.

Initially, I usually download my files, edit them and re-upload them again after editing but there is one simple way to copy and past in Cpanel.

How to copy and past codes in CPanel

I don't know if you are facing the same issue and if yes then follow this simple steps to be able to copy and past in Cpanel.

To be able to copy and past easily in your web hosting Cpanel is to use legacy editor instead of latest editor

In my own case, I have 2 editors namely Latest editor and legacy editor and when I am on latest editor I will be unable to copy and past inside the same file unless when I copied it from any simple text editor outside my Cpanel but with legacy editor you can copy from the same file and past anywhere inside the same file and it also has find and replaced feature which is lacking in latest editor.

Where to Locate the latest editor and legacy editor

I don't know how your own Cpanel is configured but you can change your editor at the top right side of your Cpanel as you can see below.

Hope you are now able to copy and past with ease in your Cpanel but if you still face any problem, don't hesitate to share with me for more help.
