The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is a global professional accountancy body that was created in 1904. It has over 486,000 students and 200,000 qualified members all over the world, including Nigeria.

ACCA Nigeria can be found in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. The Lagos office is located on Etim Inyang Street on Victoria Island, Plot 259, right wing, ground floor.

To be a certified chartered accountant, you have to go through a certification examination. A 2014 study showed that the average fail rate of the ACCA Professional exams is high. The fail rate was about 58% percent - meaning less than half of students don’t pass ACCA exams.

Most people redraw from the program just because of being numbered among the fail rate and if you don’t want to be part of that statistic, the following tips can help you pass your ACCA exams almost easily.

Have a plan

It is said failure to plan is planning to fail. But nobody plans to fail. Planning well would increase your chances of passing.

Get acquainted with the approved ACCA syllabus and Texts

Being without the syllabus is almost like navigating a ship without a compass. The syllabus would help you focus on topics that are important to the exams. Also, personal notes from your study center or from friends are not enough for you to pass your ACCA exams. No matter how comprehensive those notes are, they are never as good as approved texts from ACCA.

Revise adequately

You must allocate enough time to do a final revision before the actual exams start. You can make personal study notes, study cards and reminders to help with the revision.

Visit the exam center

Try and visit the exam center at least once before the exam. This is to make sure you don’t waste valuable time looking for your center on the day of the exam.

Get a good sleep

If nervousness takes hold of you a day before the exam you must find a way to calm yourself down to get a good night’s rest.
