Nigeria's music industry is very rich and that's why musicians aren't measured only by the quality of their music but also by the quantity of their money.


 Apart from the fact that many different musicians do release trending music perhaps once in a while, some do outranks others based on the quality of their release in the long run. Many atimes we are tempted to search for who really is the richest musicians among others in Nigeria. However, before reading who and who are on the musicians rich list in Nigeria, you may need to know how these musician make their millions. How Nigerian musicians make their money!
As stated before, there is money in Nigeria's entertainment industry.


To make a few millions doesn't neccessary mean you are there in the rich list. Alternately, not being listed as one of the richest musician in the country doesn't rule out the probability of you being a millionaire musician. Nigerian musician are ranked based on factors like appearance fee, endorsements as well as the worth of their personal properties.



The most accepted one is that released by forbes. The listed musicians are obtained from datas from forbes but in no particular ordering.

Timaya



 

Timaya whose name is Entimi Alfred Odom was born on 2nd November 1980. He worths an impressive N5.5 billion.Entimi Alfred Odom who is considered the lion of his jungle is a Nigerian singer, and song writer. He is the CEO of DM Record label and has collaborated with Phyno, Terry G, K solo, Kefee, J.Martins and others.


Timaya began his career in 2005 and has since grown to this stature His second album Gift and Grace was released in 2008 which sold about 10 million copies in Africa. If you want to talk endorsement deals, Timaya effects deals worth millions with Glo and cognac brand Henessy.



Wizkid





 Ayodeji Balogun Ibrahim is popularly called Wizkid. His popularity goes to show the class of musician this young man is. Data has it that Wizkid's net worth is over $11 million.


As his name should have hinted, he is tipped to have started his musical career at the tender age of 11. This young man may seem old enough to own a wife but as at the time of publishing this piece, he is unmarried. His marriage status hasn't gone without mimicking from the Nigerian internet masses; he was once shockingly linked with popular blogger, Linda Ikeji by some of his marriage enthusiastic fans.

 Davido is the co- owner of HKN music and he produced songs for Tiwa savage, Skales and Naeto C. In 2012, he signed an endorsement deal with MTN, and also an ambassador of Sony music. This lover boy recently bought a private jet and also purchased a N45 million Porsche car for his girlfriend Chioma for her 23rd birthday and got an endorsement deal of N60 million for her.

2Face is a music legend and he can be traced historically to Plantashun Boiz which he formed along with his friends, Face and Black Face. The musician was born in Jos although he hails from the Idoma tribe of Benue State.

Olamide





 Olamide Adedeji popularly called Badoo was born on 15th of March 1989. He attended both primary and secondary school in Lagos and proceeded to Tai Solarin University of education to study mass communication. He is the founder of popular music record Label YBNL.

He has since secured deals from numerous endorsement deals with heritage bank, energy drink known as power fist, and Sony. He is also an ambassador of Bank of industry (BOI) and globacom.

Although these two seperated long since, ther certainly deserved a place in this list of richest musicians in Nigeria as they are worth it. Peter Okoye and Paul okoye were known as P square. They were born on 18 of November, 1981 in Jos.


They went to St. Murumba secondary school a small catholic school in Jos. and later joined school music and drama club. In 1999, they went to university of Abuja. They both performed album with artists like Sean Paul, Akon and Ginuwine.


Peter had endorsement deals with Kia motors, Olympic e.t.c that worth millions of naira and both of them have won many awards which include Nigerian magazine awards, ciy magazine, the headies, Kora awards and many more. Based on Forbes list of richest musicians in Nigeria, Peter’s worth is estimated to N5.8 billon while Paul’s net worth is N5.6 billion.
