2019 Current list of Nigerian Ambassadors and countries deployed

An ambassador is a government-recognised diplomat representing a country. This highly ranked personnel serves as the resident representative of the country’s government when diplomacy is needed.

One might be confused on the particular list of ambassabors we have in Nigeria due to the politics behind their appointments. When a new administration emerges, significant changes are made as well in international relations.

They are employed and deployed as if the post is a contract. In June 2012, President Goodluck Jonathan deployed 93 diplomats to over 64 countries. 86 of these ambassadors were posted out of the country while 7 remained in Nigeria as ambassadors-in- situ.





Out of the 86 posted out, 62 were deployed to serve as ambassadors while 24 were appointed as Deputy Heads of Mission. The list of the ambassadors that were posted are:

After three years of service in their various countries, the current president, Muhammadu Buhari reportedly relieved these ambassadors of their duties. Few months after, the names of the new ambassadors to the various countries were released and are as follows:
