Gernot Rohr's Nigeria lineup to face South Africa and Uganda

The list of the Super Eagles stars to play the 2019 AFCON qualifying match against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in November and Uganda three days later hasbeen released.

Coach Gernot Rohr in his 23 man list has chosen to omit the captain of the team, John Obi Mikel.

There is a return for the former U17 World Cup winning forward, Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze earning of which this is the latter's first call.

The super eagles are currently on top of Group E in the AFCON 2018 qualification series with South Africa closely following behind.

The cracker which is a repeat of a similar fixture which saw the eagles beaten at Uyo would be played at the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg on Saturday, 17th November in one of the Match-day 5 fixtures.

A win against South africa would ensure they qualify for the 2019 edition of AFCON after missing the last two editions.

Meanwhile, all invited players have been told to report direct in Asaba on Monday, 12th November to begin preparations for the tie against South Africa and Uganda three days later. Ahmed Musa is likely to be given the armband against South Africa in Johannesburg.
