Voice over internet protocol(VoIP) platforms like Whatsapp, Facebook messenger would now have a new service to contend with in Tizeti's Wifi call app.

Unlike Whatsapp and it's likes which mainly uses telecom networks to make it's call within their official app, Wificall proposes to facilitate cheap calls through it's numerous wifi routes while hoping to partner various other wifi firms in Nigeria.

The company behind this unique startup is Tizeti .

The firm is known in deploying high speed internet access to estates, offices, multi-tenant building using it's wi-Fi technology.

With no data cap, residential and business customers get their fair share of full wifi coverage to the value they paid for.

The company reportedly has 12,000 public WiFi hotspots in Nigeria with 500,000 users under it's service.

The new platform reasoned that according to the Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI), affordable internet is defined as 1GB of data costing no more than 2% of monthly income. Then with the current national minimum wage in Nigeria at N30,000 ($83.33) per month, the current average rate of 1GB data at N1,000 ($2.78) is significantly higher than the recommended N600 ($1.67). The firm concurrently has emphasized the need to make data and call cheap and available to many.

How Tizeti hopes to setup it's wifi calling

CEO and Co-Founder of Tizeti, Kendall Ananyi says “WifiCall.ng is reinventing our traditional understanding of phone communication using next- generation Cloud and AI technology, bringing voice communications in Nigeria into the 21st century. Our goal continues to be to reduce the cost of data and accelerate the rate of connectivity across the continent – this is a first step in continuing to bridge the digital divide that exists. We are excited to continue pushing boundaries in ICT infrastructure and maintain our competitive edge by offering quality and unlimited data service”.

Being a wifi technology firm, Tizeti has been engaged in building and operating solar-powered towers in Nigeria especially in Abuja and Lagos. Infact, the company has reportedly covered 90% of lagos state in it's wifi network.

The firm is committed to providing residences and businesses with unlimited high speed broadband internet and recently a cheaper means of call through it's internet structures. With strategic wifi tower placements, the company is hoping to reach out to other african countries in 2020.

WifiCall functions

Relating the functionalities of the service, Ifeanyi Okonkwo, Tizeti’s Chief Operations Officer said,

“Tizeti has developed a system that meets the needs of a wide selection of Nigerians. Whether it’s a household with a handful of users or a business who wants to setup a fully-fledged call centre solution, they can all do this in minutes at a fraction of the cost. Previously, setting up a voice service of any size was only available to mega businesses and multi-tenant estates and it would take months to develop and required significant CAPEX to deploy. WifiCall.ng has created a viable solution for Nigerians, further expanding our extensive reach nationwide”.

One outstanding feature WifiCall possess is that it's  a (VoIP) Voice over Internet Protocol subscription service. The service allows for unlimited calls to any phone number in the country including those that are not registered within the network.

VoIP call services is used by Facebook in it's messenger app but is only functionable when the two parties(caller and receiver) are connected through the app. Once a user is out of the app or has exausted his/her data, the connection is gone!

This is no better with whatsapp as the same scenerio takes place.

Providing solutions to these inconveniencies, the firm has a monthly plan which gives unlimited call time plsu numerous advantages.

Features of the calling platform include:

→ Personalised digital receptionist messages: For busy users or company lines, a means for multi-line requirements whereby companies can create and manage queues.

→ Easy phone number search.

→ Search engine of business phone numbers.

→ A Customisable dashboard: Subscribers are allowed to customise the main dashboard of the calling app to their tastes.

→ Calling statistics: Care about statistics after calls? WifiCall app gives statistics of calls.

→ Subscribers can select their own number.

→ Multi-user sub-account management with ability to top up online and allocate call credits to users.

→ Management of users within a calling space.

→ So that tech platforms can build services around the WifiCall product, developers will have access to the API suite within the platform.

→ Ability to top-up credit online.

→ Users can place calls directly from twitter by tweeting phone numbers to @wificallng while on the social network.
