Due to the increasing level of unemployment across the country, the federal government led by Gen. Muhammadu Buhari created the 'Npower' scheme.

The target is youths of the ages of 18 to 30. The scheme is among one of this year's youth empowerment scheme in Nigeria as it hopes to reduce the unemployability of youths by arming them with the necessary tools to be self-employed.

Full benefits of the Npower scheme include:

~ The N-Power program will help deploy more than half a million graduates who will help in creating solutions for public service sectors such as health and education.

~ Trained youths can join the broader agenda of actualizing the country’s development ambitions. These include food security and economic self-sufficiency.

~ The Npower Nigeria program will help facilitate the achievement of economic diversification.

~ The modules encourage a knowledge-based economy where young people are equipped with global skills, knowledge, and certification. This will promote innovation in the domestic as well as global markets.

~ The NPower portal modules will allow non- graduates to achieve relevant skills (business and technical) to improve their standards of living.

~ The training involved in NPower recruitment will also enhance the work and employment outlook of non- graduate youths.

During the time of training, every qualified trainee is liable for some N30,000 , N10,000 monthly stipends depending. The scheme has it that after every four weeks trainees would be paid what they are due to get. Precisely, the approved sum is to be paid between 28 to 31 of every month. Is this really the reality?

Starting with three broad modules ~ the N-Power Volunteer, Knowledge, and Build, the scheme looked promising at first. In recent month, various complains mainly about funding has buzzed in from participants.

The simple way to clear any doubt about the Npower program is to contact them officially or put in a question via this thread.

What to do when issues of not receiving your stipends when due arises

When having issues arising from payment and the likes, write to the npower support at  volunteersupport@npower.gov.ng or through their official twitter handle.

Despite seeming to slow down a bit, the Npower scheme is still functioning. More updates to follow....
