The error message (OSD lockout) mostly appears when you are using HP LED or LCD monitors but there is a simple fix to that error and that's what we are going to fix. If you are getting such error or anything related to it then this post will help you fix OSD lockout error successfully.

Now, if you are among the people with HP LED or LCD monitors and you are passing through such a situation when you press any button on your HP monitor, I am here to help you get over it now, all you need to do is to follow these simple steps below and everything ill be over in few months.

However, if you get the error message for OSD Lockout on your HP Monitor mostly Compaq LA1951 & other models. The HP Monitor OSD Lockout error message is an optional protection feature / child-lock mechanism integrated into the monitor firmware to prevent configuration from being altered or inadvertently modified.

How to fix OSD lockout error

To fix this error you need to make sure that all your HP monitor's buttons are perfect. and if some are not functional then make sure to fix it before you proceed because If one of the buttons gets stuck, this message OSD Lockout can appear any time. Let assume that everything is okay but the same error message still appears, click and hold the menu button for more than 10 to 15 seconds until the OSD Lockout message disappears from the screen.

Interestingly, you might internationally or unintentionally lock your monitor by following the same step, To lock the OSD, you have to hold the MENU button for 10 to 15 seconds while the monitor is plugged in and to clear the OSD Lockout message you will need to do the same thing, press and hold the MENU button for 10 - 15 seconds.

If the above step does not solve the problem, Unplug the power cable and hold the Power button for up to 30 seconds - this will reset to factory default.
Monitors are different and the buttons to HOLD might be different for other models, check the manufacturer product manual for specific actions.

I hope this helps and your monitor is now back to normal, but if you still need more help don't hesitate to ask questions and I will be pleased to help you further.
