Does it use a data connection to work?

Your biggest fear is data subscription just like online video streaming that consumes a lot of data but you might be surprised to know that MTN MusicTime does not require an internet connection to play. Moreover, it requires a data connection to download a few files from the server especially when you make new requests.

For me to confirm how fast the app consumes data while entertaining me with the latest Nigerian music, I switched off my phone data connection while playing music using the MusicTime app for about 30 minutes and the music continued playing. Even when the data is enabled the MusicTime app doesn't consume more than 2 MB. It's like magic to play different songs through the app without the internet especially when the music is not present on your phone.

MTN MusicTime subscriptions plan & Price

To have access to hundreds of songs from different countries you need to subscribe to MTN MusicTime. MTN currently offers two subscription plans by minutes.

  • 120 Minutes music playing time at N45 (Valid for 7 Days)
  • 300 Minutes of playing time at N100 (Valid for 7 Days)

With 120 minutes of uninterrupted fun, you can listen to approximately 30 tracks of songs for the whole week while the N100 plan gives you 300 minutes to listen to your favorite songs. You can listen to approximately 75 tracks or more but remember you only have 7 days.

How and where to download MTN MusicTime

To see for yourself you need to download the MusicTime app on your phone from Google Play store here and enjoy best local and international music on the go. From my personal experience, you will have access to new and old popular songs, even those music that you once loved but have forgotten it's still available on MTN MusicTime.

Still Requires some improvement

While using this app I noticed a few problems, the music is not well arranged, you can find Nigerian songs in Top Ghanaian songs which are wrong. Sometimes MTN will send a message indicating that I have free music play time without a subscription but when you open the app you will see nothing.
