After seven years off the air, Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS), the survival reality program that dominated the Nigerian airways in the early 2000s, is making a triumphant return.

GUS premiered in 2004 and ran for 11 seasons, thanks to the support of Nigerian Breweries Plc, the makers of Gulder lager beer. Before it concluded in 2016, the show had been Nigeria's most-watched reality TV series.

Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc. has officially confirmed that the exhibition would make a reappearance in 2021, with the theme "The Age of Craftsmanship."


Sade Morgan, Corporate Affairs Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, remarked, "We are thrilled to be bringing back the Gulder Ultimate Search for the viewing pleasure of Nigerians who have continued to demand for the show's return throughout the years."

The planning team has put everything in place to offer fans precisely what they want from the concert, and I am confident that everyone will be pleasantly pleased with what we have planned."

According to Morgan, registration will begin on September 1 and finish on September 8, 2021. The first screening will be held in Abuja and Enugu on September 13, with the second in Lagos on September 16.

The premiere of 'Gulder Ultimate Search: The Age of Craftsmanship' is planned for October 16, 2021, with the grand finale on December 19, 2021.

Since the first season, which aired in 2004, participants have been tented in various areas of the nation to compete against themselves and the wild, i.e., nature, in their hunt for a buried treasure that offers immediate fame and wealth to the last person remaining.

The reward increased from N3 million in the first edition to N10 million and a new SUV in the most recent event. Fans have been clamoring for it to return since it went off the air. And now it's time for the show to return!

Several talents that went on to become stars in Nigeria's entertainment business were found throughout the show's 11-season run. Kunle Remi (2010 winner), Dennis Okike (Season Cool), and Chris Okagbue are just a few of the previous winners who have established successful careers in Nollywood (Season 10).

Remi, who was 22 at his win in 2010, was featured in the Africa Magic series Tinsel, Forbidden, and many critically acclaimed Nollywood films such as Sin City and Gold Statue.

Dominic Mudabai, the fourth-place winner, has also starred in several television commercials for various international corporations.

The new season of GUS will begin accepting applications from Nigerians aged 21 to 35 on September 1, 2021, through its online registration portal, www.gulderultimatesearch.ng, according to organizers.
