A few days ago, Davido made a public request that all his friends and colleague should donate 1 Million each in celebration of his birthday, and guess what?

How was shocked by the kind of response he got following his request for 1 million naira each from his friends and colleagues. Most of the well Known Nigerian Businessmen and entertainers like Obi Cuban, EMoney, and the rest of them donated a reasonable amount above the 1 million naira that Nigerian famous music artist Davido initially requested.


To cut a long story short, Davido received more than 200 million into his WEMA Bank account in less than 48 hours, making him the first entertainer ever attained such height in the shortest period.

The request from Davido didn't go down well with most Nigerians, most people even said on social media that he is broke, while others said that he needed the money to import and clear his new expensive Rolls Royce.

From the comments I saw on social media, it's clear that most people are not happy with Davido and those donating for him. Someone said that the need to donate money to someone that is already wealthy instead of contributing to the poor and needy is useless.

Another fellow jokingly said that if he was the one that asked for 5k that they would stop responding to him or even block him, but why donate money to an already rich guy and turn your back on the people that need the money.

David didn't reveal what he wanted to do with the money he requested, we all know that his wealthy and can afford to celebrate his birthday in a grand style without anyone's help, but then he requested for donation from his friends and colleagues why?

The truth is that many people are not happy with Davido's request, but I guess it's because his intention was hidden. DONATION OF NGN 250,000,000.00 TO ORPHANAGES ACROSS NIGERIA

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to my friends, colleagues, fans, and the public for the generous expressions of love in recent days. In my usual playful manner, I requested a few days ago that my friends and colleagues send money to celebrate my birthday.

The response and outcome exceeded my expectations, as I received about NGN 200,000,000.00 in less than two days. I truly appreciate everyone who donated his or her hard-earned money, and I am very thankful for your generosity. I have always been passionate about giving back and helping people.

Because of this, I am delighted to announce that all the funds received, totaling NGN 200,000,000.00, will be donated to orphanages across Nigeria and the Paroche foundation. In addition, I will be making a personal donation of NGN 50,000,000.00, bringing the total amount to NGN 250,000,000.00.

To oversee the distribution of funds to beneficiaries,
I have established a five-person Disbursement Committee. Members of the committee include:

1. Mrs. Titi Adebayo, chairman of the committee.
2. Professor Jonathan Nwosu, secretary to the committee.
3. Professor Yahana Joel Asabe of the Northern Nigeria Seventh Day Adventist Union Conference.
4. Pastor (Dr) Oyalabu of Spring Time Development Foundation (SDF).
5. Professor Uloma Onuoha

The committee will compile a list of orphanages across Nigeria. They will determine the number of children and their needs at each orphanage and divide the funds accordingly. The committee will also determine the portion of the money that will be
donated to the Paroche foundation. To maintain transparency, the committee will publicize the names of the beneficiary orphanages and how much each will receive.

A list of all beneficiaries and their verified account details will be submitted to Wema Bank, who will then be instructed to credit each beneficiary's account.

My goal is to do this fundraising every year to celebrate my birthday and give back to people in need. I hope that my friends, fans, colleagues in the industry, and the public will continue to support me as I drive this cause.
