How I Fixed my Phone Overheating Problem
Posted on: November 26, 2021, 01:20:55 AM
I thought that some phones start overheating when you overuse them, I mean when you use the phone continuously for some heaving tasks, but I was wrong. A few days ago, my phone started to overheat, and I became so angry and disappointed because everything was perfect until recently.

Overheating will make your phone battery run down two times faster than usual, and the fast charging feature might not work well. I noticed that my phone that used to last longer now holds power and can't charge faster than it used to.

Well, I didn't research to write about how you can stop your phone from overheating, but it's all about my personal experience, and I believe it can help you as well. So I will tell you everything you should know to try the same method to see if you can solve your overheating problem.

I got Tecno Camon 17 Pro a few months ago. I became in love with the performance, the battery, the fast charging features, and the 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM memory. I don't care about people who call Tecno or Infinix different degrading names, but I can say that Camon 17 Pro is one of the best phones I have ever used.

You can imagine, after spending 100k+ to buy a phone only to start experiencing overheating a few months later. I was so angry and planning to sell the phone as fast as possible because I didn't even have the time to visit their office for possible repairs.

Why My phone starts overheating

The first thing I did was to flashback to remember when the phone started to overheat because everything was perfect. Well, I remembered when the phone started to overheat and what I did.

On that faithful day, I received a notification that my phone had new software, which went ahead to update immediately. I usually don't hesitate to explore the new features that come with the update.

The update took some time, but everything went successfully. After a few hours, I noticed that my phone was overheating, though I never thought that the overheat was from the update or anything.

I switched the phone Off and On again, thinking that it could fix it, but nothing changed. I wanted to hardest the phone, but I didn't have any memory card to back up my data, so I canceled that option.

When I remembered that the overheating problem started immediately after the softer update, I thought of using my system for flashing the phone. Still, the Firmware of Tecno Camon 17 Pro along is up to 3GB before you download the flashing tools, so I canceled that option as well.

The phone is still under warranty, but the stress of visiting them for repair is something I don't have time for. The only option I had was to sell it.

How I Fixed the overheating problem

The overheating started after updating my phone, but it's not the cause of the problem. When most phones start to overheat, you will be asked to try one of the following to fix it.

  • Check whether your battery is bad
  • Close unused Apps or games
  • Don't play games for too long to avoid overheating
  • Reduce multitasking to minimize the workload for the CPU

None of the above suggestions worked for me because the phone is overheating when I am not using it. Most times, my phone will remain like 40%, and I will switch off my data and sleep, but when I wake up, I will see 15%, which ha strange.

I fixed the overheating issue by updating all the app on my phone

I never knew that updating my mobile apps could stop the phone from overheating. However, what happened is that most apps on my phone are not compatible with the new software update that I did recently, and the only way to fix it is to update that app to fix things on their own.

This option should only be considered when your phone that was working well but suddenly starts to overheat. You can explore this option to see if the overheating will stop. I know it will cost a small amount of data to update all the apps on your phone to their latest versions but very important.
