MTN Nigeria has introduced a nationwide Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) calling service. It stated that the introduction was in accordance with its aim of giving customers access to the most advanced communications technologies while also improving the entire customer experience.
Customers with compatible devices may enjoy enhanced natural-sounding voice quality, less background noise, and speedier call connectivity thanks to the service, which is also known as high definition (HD) calls.
Wikipedia describes it as "an LTE high-speed wireless communication standard for mobile phones and data terminals, including Internet of things (IoT) devices and wearables," according to the online knowledge bank. VoLTE offers up to three times the voice and data capacity of previous 3G UMTS networks and up to six times the capacity of 2G GSM networks.
Because the packet headers of VoLTE are smaller than those of unoptimized VoIP/LTE, it consumes less bandwidth. Calls made through VoLTE are typically charged at the same cost as conventional calls."
MTN Nigeria's Chief Marketing Officer, Adia Sowho, stated that the service is available on VoLTE-enabled smartphones.
"With VoLTE, MTN Nigeria continues to improve Nigerian lives with innovative technology," she stated. VoLTE is available for free today at your rates from any VoLTE-enabled smartphone, allowing you to talk and surf at the same time with no disruptions. "We're on our way!"
