Mattress producer Mouka has added two more devices to its world-class laboratory, reportedly unique in Nigeria, to deepen its commitment to quality.
The business takes pleasure in investing in research and development (R&D), but the two machines in a specially constructed space inside its Lagos headquarters give itself an advantage over rivals.
Engineer Chimezie Nwosuagwu, the manager of quality assurance, research and development, and process improvement for Mouka, outlined the technology's unique characteristics and its advantages for users.
For instance, he said, "We can do complete mattress performance evaluation on mattresses" thanks to these devices. Before this, most quality checks were performed only on lab foam samples rather than full-sized mattresses.
Chimezie said that Mouka could perform a mattress durability test using the machines, demonstrating the mattress's resistance to deflection and deformation caused by human weight and movement on the mattress' characteristics over time.
He said, "We can also do a mattress hardness value and firmness rating test, which reveals the load-bearing capability of the mattress, i.e., what body weight the mattress can hold throughout prolonged usage without degrading its performance.
With these devices, "we can even do a fatigue/height loss test to forecast the loss in load-bearing capacity and change in mattress height owing to repetitive load," the expert said.
"These devices can decipher the ideal mattress features and specifications for varied user demands and applications," Chimezie remarked about the advantages of this technology to Nigerian consumers.
"In other words, we mean it when we claim we can assist you in finding the ideal mattress. Additionally, these tools create standards for mattress manufacturing, so when you purchase a Mouka mattress, you know you're getting the finest.
Mouka can precisely assess, support, and construct the guarantee for its goods, which refers to a mattress's useful life, he said, represents a significant technological advantage.
He claims that a 10-year warranty on Mouka's Royal Luxury Pillow top mattress gives customers peace of mind that the item will guarantee at least 10 years of uninterrupted, high-quality sleep.
Quality is our watchword at Mouka, according to Mr. David Onyemata, Head of Manufacturing Operations. We constantly assess the world's leading processing and mattress manufacturing R&D processes.
"To make sure we are delivering our customers the most incredible sleep products, we not only pay attention to every minute detail while creating our goods, but we also put them through rigorous testing procedures. Modern equipment has been added to our laboratory as a result.
In his comments, Mouka Managing Director Mr. Femi Fapohunda said that owing to the strategic shift in ownership to Dolidol, the market leader of the sleep business in West Africa, Mouka was advancing to even higher heights.
Fapohunda said, "I had mentioned that Dolidol was bringing technical knowledge on board which would be obvious for everyone to see," noting that a few months before, Mouka had introduced the Mouka Bio-Pillow, which was the first pillow created in Nigeria using patented biocrystal technology.
He continued by saying that Mouka has taken yet another step in ensuring that the company's product line is suited to the demands and tastes of customers by presenting this significant enhancement to its R&D facilities.
The MD said that Mouka would not rest on its laurels and would instead continue to invest in technology to ensure that its goods were of the highest quality and stood out from the competition.
