On August 1, 2022, MultiChoice introduced "News Central" on DStv, bringing more comprehensive news coverage to subscribers.

You'll get a 24-hour news source with MultiChoice's brand-new news channel that emphasizes factual reporting. Audiences on DStv's Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Access, Yanga, and Confam services will be able to watch it.

Channel 422 will be taken by News Central, meaning that all DStv bundles will access various narratives about every significant African event. News Central is a news channel available on television, the web, and mobile devices around the clock.

With digital technology, the channel uses authentic storytelling to share experiences with viewers and keep them interested in politics, business, sports, nature, eco-diversity, beauty, and inspiring features.

In response to a question about the new channel, Dr Busola Tejumola, Executive Head, Content and Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice Nigeria, said: "We're constantly exploring better methods to serve our consumers with the most acceptable content and entertainment. The channel will be a welcome addition to our lineup, we feel.

Many untold Nigerian stories will be shared with factual news about political and social developments in Nigeria and the rest of Africa on "News Central," a comprehensive, competitive channel offering.

We are a premium African news brand focused on reporting African stories with honesty, decency and respect to shift the single-minded narrative of the continent," Rosemary Egabor Afolahan, the Head of Commercial at News Central Media Limited, stated.

We think African voices and perspectives must be used to tell the true story of Africa." Africans make up the bulk of our target audience, but we also target specific markets throughout the continent. With the support of DSTV, we want to pursue our goal of being the most recognised media brand in Africa," the company said in a statement.

You may feel confident that News Central's viewers will receive reliable African content. In the heart of Lagos, Nigeria's commercial metropolis, News Central is a cutting-edge hub for a creative and media business ecosystem.

To keep its reputation as a reliable source of information, News Central devotes enough time and resources to each story to guarantee that the news, documentaries, and other vital items are factually accurate and easy to follow.
