Master Valour Mbre-Inyang, 16, received a monetary award of $1000 from the administration of Topfaith International Secondary School Mkpatak in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State for his outstanding achievement in the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

Mbre-Inyang obtained all nine A1 grades in the WAESSC results, which has never been accomplished since the institution's founding 20 years ago.

During a ceremony on Monday in the school, Dr. Emmanuel Abraham, the Chairman of the institution's board of governors, presented the winner with their medals and praised them for making the school proud.

The accomplishments, according to Abraham, could not have occurred at a better moment than on the institution's 20th anniversary.

He clarified that the board of governors established a $1,000 award for any student who achieved an unmatched A1 in the courses they registered for in the WASSCE, adding that the goal was to motivate the students to perform above expectations in their WASSCE.

According to him, several Topfaith students over the years came close to winning the title by earning eight A1s but fell short of one to take home the cash prize.

He commended Mbre-Inyang for his accomplishments, including earning all A-stars (A*s) on the Cambridge GCE in the five courses he took, 343 out of 400 on the JAMB-UTME, 1480 out of 1600 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test, and 8 out of 9 on the International English Language Test System.

He made use of the occasion to encourage the student participants to follow in the footsteps of the honoree, noting that Master Inyang had received a tuition-free academic excellence Scholarship from Topfaith for his six years of study there. The school established this scholarship for the top students in each of the classes from JS1 to SS3, which was instituted for his benefit.

To graduate as the class valedictorian in 2022, he challenged the pupils to learn the same devotion that enabled the awardee to accomplish all his exploits.

The Chairman also took advantage of the opportunity to congratulate the JS3 pupils. They have now been promoted to SS1 for outstanding success in the 2022 NECO-BECE, where 17 received all As in every subject they took.

To further realize the Topfaith dream and philosophy of fostering global relevance, he commended the school's administration and staff for their dedication and concern in supporting the pupils.

Before the ceremony, Topfaith International School's Principal, Mrs. Nsongurua Augustine, welcomed all of the visitors and praised the awardee's parents for leaving their young student in their care for the six-year term.

Master More-Inyang responded, thanking the Chairman, Management, and Staff of the School for his support and inspiration as a student there and admonishing the students to work hard and stay focused to achieve similar outcomes.
