Posted on: April 28, 2023, 08:21:16 AM
The 2023 Excellence in Fintech Infrastructure Award was bestowed upon Flutterwave, the most successful payments technology business on the African continent.

This event honours Flutterwave's commitment to developing payment infrastructure that improves the quality of life for millions of people all around the world.

The honour was bestowed to the recipient on the 12th of April, during the 2023 Africa Fintech Summit (AFTS), which took place in Washington, District of Columbia, United States.

The award, which was introduced in April 2018 as an essential component of the AFTS, recognises various players in the fintech industry for their achievements in the creation of impactful products or in the making of choices that progress the fintech ecosystem on the African continent.

The first session of this year's summit, which was entitled "The Future of Finance," provided a forum for discussions on the most recent problems pertaining to Fintech Africa as well as the presentation of prizes to deserving businesses.

According to Olugbenga 'GB' Agboola, Founder and CEO of Flutterwave, receiving this award is a tribute to the team's drive to providing creative and effective payment solutions that bridge the gap between the African market and the worldwide market.

"This award reaffirms Flutterwave's devotion to supporting customers all throughout the African continent and beyond, as well as our commitment to providing the most advanced infrastructure and solutions for the financial technology industry.

"We would like to express our thanks to the Africa Fintech Summit for bestowing upon us the honour of being recognised as one of the most reliable Fintech Infrastructure Providers in Africa.

"Flutterwave will continue to drive innovation and inclusivity in the fintech space for emerging economies globally," claimed Agboola.

During the event, Oluwabankole Falade, Chief Regulatory Affairs & Government Relations Officer, took part in a discussion on the present condition of fintech connectivity between Africa and the United States.

Chongsi Bi, who serves as the Head of Corporate Development and M&A for Flutterwave, participated in a panel discussion with other industry leaders to discuss the prospects of fintech in Africa and the tasks that would be required of the various actors in the ecosystem in the years to come.
