Former Acting Secretary-General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Fanny Amun has warned that the decision of the Appeals Committee into the last elections of the NFF that produced Amaju Pinnick as President might draw a FIFA ban.
The Appeals Committee, chaired by Barr. Okey Ajunwa, has been sitting in Abuja. But speaking yesterday in an interview with Sports Vanguard, Amun, a former Golden Eaglets coach said that it was curious that some persons were bent on drawing back the hand of the clock.
“The worrisome thing to me is that we have just escaped FIFA ban by the whiskers and all too soon, we are witnessing another subterfuge attempt to use the backdoor to take out a legitimate board that has been endorsed by FIFA.
“These people are playing with fire and the result will be worse than what we are going to see tomorrow as FIFA will not hold back from banning Nigeria because the Appeals Committee cannot nullify the election.
The only body that can annul the election is the Congress, so the whole process by the Appeals Committee is flawed”, added Amun.
