Global ICT giant, Dell Inc. has introduced Data Centre Scalable Solutions (DSS), a new line of business within Dell’s Enterprise Solutions organisation designed to meet the specific needs of web tech, telecommunications service providers, hosting companies, oil and gas and research organisations.

Dell was the first major server vendor to recognise the peculiar needs of the hyper scale market segment and created Data Centre Solutions (DCS) in 2007 to design and build solutions tailored for these massive-scale data centre environments.
However, there is a growing market of businesses just below the hyper scale space in size that are increasingly expressing similar needs in how they buy and build data centre capabilities. This segment which includes Web tech, Hosting companies, Telecommunications Service providers, Oil and Gas, and Research organisations is growing three times faster than the traditional x86 server market and represents a $6 billion total addressable market.

According to the Vice President and General Manager, Server Solutions, Dell, Ashley Gorakhpurwalla , “Dell is meeting the specific Data Centre requirements of these businesses by introducing this new, scalable operating model which leverages the high quality and stability of Dell’s enterprise and DCS portfolio. Along with its global support and supply chain capabilities, Dell DSS is able to design optimised solutions to meet customers’ precise needs.”

Dell DSS is also partnering closely with Dell Financial Services to further enable and enrich the customer experience. With more flexible warranty and financing options, Dell is helping customers acquire technologies that allow them to future-proof their business while driving business value.
