Beware of the New MTN popup advert that takes your money
Posted on: October 20, 2015, 11:16:04 PM
MTN Nigeria decided to move to the next level of mobile marketing by applying popup ads on their customers mobile phones but the question remains "Are they doing this to serve their mobile subscribers better or for their own selfish interest".

Many of us are happy as buying Sim card from Network operators become cheaper and even free but let not forget that when Sim Card was expensive no network operators sends unnecessary text messages to their mobile customers all in the name of making money but now you get it free and pay more indirectly because once you are with their SIM you automatically becomes source of their income.

First what is POPUP?
"1.
(of a book or greeting card) containing folded cut-out pictures that rise up to form a three-dimensional scene or figure when the page is turned.

(of an electric toaster) operating so as to push up a piece of toast quickly when it is ready.
    Computing
(of a menu or other utility) able to be superimposed on the screen being worked on and suppressed rapidly.

2.
denoting a store or other business that opens quickly in a temporary location and is intended to operate for only a short period of time".

The type of marketing text messages i receive from mtn is truly unwanted and disturbing that is why many people don't pay attention to any of their massages but to my surprise i picked my phone 3 days ago and i saw a popup on my phone stating that i should press OK to receive this and that N100week or press CANCEL, i carefully pressed CANCEL but today they managed to get me as another popup advert appeared and i was so quick to remove the popup on my screen but unfortunately i pressed the wrong button and they took my money so be careful about the new mtn marketing strategies  which is designed to take you unaware and collect you money even when you are not interested on their ads.
