The new Managing Director of Tecno Mobile, Mr. Chidi Okonkwo at the weekend reassured that the mobile phone maker, Tecno was committed to delivering the best technologies to the end users just as it continues to impact Nigerian communities through projects that touch lives.

Okonkwo who stated this in Lagos recently during the unveiling of the company’s next generation music phone, the Tecno Boom J8 with the latest operating system, HIOS told the gathering that Tecno will continue to build products and solutions tailored to the Nigerian environment. At the core of all our endeavours is a burning desire to empower mobile users through their experience of the brand, he said.

“Over the years, our team of software developers has worked tirelessly to create a unique user experience across all Tecno mobile devices; to tailor a user interface so intuitive that it truly embodies the spirit of the Tecno brand-it was a huge task, but today we are pleased to say we’ve achieved that goal”, he said. Speaking on the new device, he explained that the company’s next generation music phone, Tecno Boom J8 runs on our custom tailored operating system, the HiOS.

He said that the smartphone comes pre-installed with the Boom player app , Africa’s largest in-app music library and the new Palmchat 5.2 social messaging app.

“This uniquely tailored android 5.1 OS flaunts Tecno’s own expression of mobile user interface-the HiOS’ UI is nothing like mobile users have experienced before”, he added.

He further explained that the new device is a total upgrade on all predecessor music phones Tecno has released in the past years. Its high-end specifications is testament to this claim, he said.

The new device, according to him flaunts an upgraded 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory expandable to 132GB, its immersive 5.5″ IPS HD touch screen rests on an ultra-slim 3.5mm premium plastic unibody, tipping the scale on first impression towards the high-end range.

Nothing that the retail price of the device tells a different story, he informed that Boom J8 camera got a boost, up from 8.0MP back camera in its predecessor, the Boom J7, to 13MP AF Back/5.0MP Front geo-tagging cameras with dual LED flash.
