N5m winner every 20 days; Ten N100,000 winners to emerge daily

Globacom will give out N125 million naira in cash prizes to its subscribers in a new promotion called Glo Hamma Millions. The consumer reward scheme which will run for the next 100 days was launched in Lagos on Monday, May 16.

Coordinator, Enterprise Sales, Mr. Folu Aderibigbe, said five lucky subscribers would go home with a life-transforming sum of N5 million each, making a total of N25 million. The N5m winners will emerge every 20 days.

In addition to the N5m jackpot prize, there is also N100,000 cash to be won by 1,000 other lucky subscribers. 10 subscribers will each win N100,000 cash every day for 100 days, making a total of N100 million. Altogether, a total of 1005 winners will emerged in the promo.

Mr. Aderibigbe said the reward scheme was developed because Globacom appreciated the customers as the focal point of its operations. “We are aware of the economic challenges faced by many now, and we are constantly looking for ways to positively impact the lives of our subscribers and help ease the difficult times,” he explained.

“To win in Glo Hamma Millions Promo, customers are required to text ‘GLO’ to 555 and answer a football trivia question. Within minutes of texting, subscribers will receive a particular question. A fresh question shows up each time the code is sent. After each text, N100 will be deducted from the subscriber’s account”, Mr Aderibigbe explained, adding that draws would be done daily to determine the winners.

He called on all prepaid subscribers on the Glo network to seize the opportunity to text as many times as possible to increase their chances of winning the fantastic prizes offered in the promo.

Representatives of telecoms regulatory authorities at the event also commended the company for the promo and described it as a competitive way to empower subscribers.

Mr. Okechukwu Aninweke, Lagos Zonal Controller of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), said, “NCC is always very happy and proud of the networks when they introduce innovative products and services, especially this initiative which is all about rewarding subscribers. We are aware of the network enhancements Globacom has done which has boosted its capacity but we would like to advise that you should please still watch it, so that it doesn’t degrade the quality of service on the Glo network”.

The Lagos Zonal Office Coordinator, National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Mr. Fidelis Ajibogun, lauded Globacom for the initiative. “We are here to endorse this promo. Transparency is very important to us. We will ensure that everyone who participates in this promo will have equal chance of winning. We will also make sure that once you are declared a winner, you will have your prize,” he stated.
