Cristiano Ronaldo will star in a Turkish television series called Hayat Koprusu, alongside Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, it has been revealed.
The Real Madrid forward, who frequently visits the country, will appear in the series to be shown in Turkey, the Middle East and Latin America.
Filming will take place in the south-east of the country near the Syrian border, and will centre around a Syrian family fleeing the civil war as refugees.
“We will begin filming in the first week of April, the series is about the plight of a refugee family and what they go through," director Eyup Dirlik told Turkish Football.
"There will be appearances from actors and actresses from all over the world including Cristiano Ronaldo, Angelina Jolie and Nancy Ajram.”
Ronaldo also has business interests in Turkey and previously joined Turkish Football Federation president Yildirim Demiroren for the opening of his shopping mall in Istanbul in 2011.
The Portugal captain played the full 90 minutes as Madrid beat Napoli 3-1 in Wednesday's Champions League tie, with Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and Casemiro scoring the goals for the hosts.
