MR. Peter Obi has been out of office for more than three years now as governor of Anambra State. His influence, however, continues to overshadow the political space.
Despite moving from the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the influence of his legacy in office continues to reverberate through the political space.
Sources in Anambra State say that despite prophecies of doom, Mr. Obi is quietly working with some other major stakeholders to unify the party before the governorship election due later in the year. Hope on the reconciliation efforts may have spurred former Aviation minister, Osita Chidoka, to join the governorship race.
Also quietly said to be in the race for the PDP ticket is former executive chairman, Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu. Who Obi supports would be critical to what could be a three-way race involving APGA, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC.
