MTN Nigeria Charges ₦2 for Airtime Credit Transfer
Posted on: March 31, 2017, 02:35:31 AM
I was surprised today when i wanted to transfer my airtime credit from my MTN line to another MTN line and I saw a notification warning message on my screen when I wanted to confirm Yes, as usual, that ₦2 transfer fee will be charged before I can complete my airtime transfer, I was surprised because it has been long i did transfer but I have a few questions to ask about the MTN ₦2 Transfer fee.

Are we going forward or backward
I can remember that for many years now I have successfully transferred airtime from one MTN line to the other without any charges then why now, since the same airtime transferred to other MTN line will still be consumed by the same MTN customer what is the need for the charges or can the airtime credit be transferred to other networks such as Glo, Etisalat, and Airtel.

Was the charges because of my Tariff plan
Seriously I don't really know but I was wondering if my tariff plan was the reason why they charged me ₦2 before I can transfer credit to someone, I use MTN business class tariff plan.

Was it because of the amount transferred
I only transfer N500 airtime to someone which is not that big but is till asking such question when I was told that they will charge me 2 Naira Transfer fee.

I don't really know why MTN as big as they are should be using any little opportunity the say just to make money because I believe charging all their subscribers a fee to transfer credit to themselves is not right.

I don't know if other networks like GLO, ETISALAT and AIRTEL does that too because last time I used it they are not charging any fee to transfer airtime but am not sure if they do now because it has been long I used it.

To prove that MTN Charged me 2 naira transfer fee you can check the image above to see the screenshot, I am really disappointed by this new development by MTN Nigeria.
