Even if you don't yet own an Xbox Series S or X, you don't have to lose out on the latest and greatest games because of it. A Samsung smart TV might be all you need. As a result of this partnership, Xbox games may now be streamed directly to TVs without needing a console.

Over 100 games may be streamed to a newer Samsung TV or monitor through Xbox TV if you have a $14.99/month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership and a newer TV or monitor. You'll be able to choose Xbox TV from the device's menu, just as you would with any other smart TV app. You'll be prompted to sign in with your Microsoft account the next time you use the app. From there, you'll have a streaming experience similar to Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Bluetooth audio input and output, as well as cloud storage, will be supported in the app. In controller compatibility, you'll have a few options: you may use the app with either the Xbox 360 or DualSense controllers.

Streaming doesn't provide you with the same experience if you don't have a console. With a refresh rate of 60 fps, Microsoft guarantees its usual 1080p streaming resolution and 60 fps refresh rate. Upscaling will also be used to improve much of the video. It's wise to lower your expectations for native 4K today if you insist on it, but for most users, this is plenty for a great gaming experience. Xbox TV doesn't depend on a plug-and-play device like the one Microsoft is also working on, but early reports say it works well for most big games.

Only Samsung smart TVs and monitors from the year 2022 will be able to run Xbox TV. (Yes, The Frame will allow you to stream your favorite movies.) It's unknown whether the app will be available for older handsets or those from other companies. After announcing the Xbox App, Microsoft said, "We are bringing the Xbox App to Samsung Smart TVs first, and our objective is to explore further TV partnerships as part of this next step in our vision."

Until then, it's a low-risk method for newer intelligent TV users to try out Xbox gaming. Xbox TV will be available to subscribers in 27 countries beginning on June 30.
