Samsung wallet: Users may now manage their digital keys, payment methods, identity, boarding permits, and more using Samsung's new Samsung Wallet platform.

Apple, Google, Samsung, and other tech giants are attempting to standardize digital wallets. Digital wallets enable people to use their smartphones to unlock and start their automobiles, show their identity, pay for transactions, and more. Samsung Wallet's efforts are being stepped up dramatically.

Jeanie Han, EVP and Head of Digital Life, MX Business at Samsung Electronics, stated, "Samsung Wallet is offering a new level of daily comfort to mobile devices with a truly safe and secure environment for storing digital keys, cards, and more." We will continue to extend the capabilities of Samsung Wallet by working closely with our loyal partners and developers as we maintain our commitment to open ecosystems."

How Samsung Wallet works

Using defense-grade security and encryption, Samsung claims its new platform will help secure consumers' most private information. Fingerprint recognition and encryption work together to keep data safe and secure so that only the rightful owner of the data may see it. Samsung Wallet's most sensitive data is further protected by Samsung Knox, which provides an extra layer of security against both physical and digital hacking threats.

Select BMW, Genesis, and Hyundai cars will be able to use Samsung Wallet's digital car keys, including the BMW 1-8 Series, X5-X7, and iX models, as well as Hyundai Palisade, Genesis GV60, and G90. More collaborations between automakers are likely in the future.

Later this year, it plans to add support for driver's licenses and student IDs and keep track of a user's digital portfolio.

Galaxy users in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom may now utilize Samsung Wallet. Eligible consumers can migrate to the new Samsung Wallet by opening their current Samsung Pay app and following a few simple steps.
